Unique 'Donda' vest worn by Kanye West and NFT sell for £55,000

The vest Kanye West donned during a listening party at the Mercedes Benz in Atlanta has sold alongside an NFT for £55,000.

West wore the item in August, and after the show, he gifted it to a security guard. Soon enough, the piece of clothing made its way to Jason Reed, who owns a consignment shop in LA, and was sold for $20,000.

It features a hand-painted Donda logo, and also West has signed it with ‘MBD’. It stands for ‘My Body Different’, the security firm who worked at the concert.

The auction house, Christiesinc, then listed it, and their bio for the item read, “We are proud to offer a unique piece of music history: the bullet proof vest worn by Kanye during the August 5th debut of his DONDA album, complete with ballistics panels, hand-painted DONDA and Kanye signed MBD, ‘my body different’, and the first 1-of-1 NFT of its kind sold at Christie’s, allowing this moment in music history to live on both physically and digitally.”

The item was on sale from November 24th until December 9th and went for £55,000. Not only did the winning bidder secure the unique signed vest, but they also gained an NFT, which is described as a “digital representation” of the apparel.
