Tyler, The Creator releases a surprise single 'Dogtooth' for fans

Odd Future frontman Tyler, The Creator has released a surprise single for his followers as he prepares to release a brand new project. Entitled ‘Dogtooth’, the song is set to feature on his forthcoming body of work, an expanded deluxe edition of his most recent album, Call Me If You Get Lost. Originally put out in 2021, this fresh release is called Call Me If You Get Lost: The Estate Sale.

According to the emcee (real name Tyler Okonma) this revised version of the record will include unreleased tracks that didn’t appear on the original and will be available on streaming services from Friday, March 31st, 2023. The news concerning the project has surprised fans who only found out via Twitter on March 27th, a mere four days before its release date. The ‘EARFQUAKE’ rapper explained to fans that he had a surplus of material and “a lot of songs” left over following the 2021 release.

Further elaborating on his decision to drop an expanded edition of Call Me If You Get Lost, the California musician explained, “Some of those songs I really love, and knew they would never see the light of day, so I’ve decided to put a few of them out!” The Odd Future act then proceeded to share the official cover artwork for Call Me If You Get Lost: The Estate Sale as well as ‘DOGTOOTH’ and its official music video which Okonma directed.

The single initially stirred up controversy, containing a somewhat dubious lyric referring to a daughter. The song heard Okonma rap, “If you don’t know my daughter name, then we ain’t really [dawgs].” Fans quickly began to speculate about what it meant, and many concluded that the Ladeira Heights rapper had become a father behind the scenes. However, seeing the Twitter firestorm that the single had created, Tyler himself took to social media to cease the speculation, tweeting, “I don’t have kids and don’t plan on it, hahaha.”

This upcoming album follows a ‘Gangsta Grillz-style’ format and was made alongside the iconic and legendary DJ Drama, who is single-handedly responsible for all of Lil’ Wayne’s legendary mixtapes. You can hear ‘DOGTOOTH’ in the video below.
