Tyler, The Creator releases new album ‘Don’t Tap the Glass’
Tyler, The Creator is back with his second album in less than a year. Don’t Tap the Glass was released on July 21st, following a surprise announcement last week.
Don’t Tap the Glass comprises 10 songs with a 28-minute running time. The album’s song titles include ‘Sugar on My Tongue’, ‘Stop Playing with Me’, ‘Don’t Worry You Baby’, and ‘I’ll Take Care of You’.
Tyler produced the entire album, which was released on Columbia Records. In an Instagram post following its release, he said the project was “made for body movement” at “full volume.”
Don’t Tap the Glass is the follow-up to last year’s Chromakopia album. It debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart with 299,000 units, including features from Lil Wayne, ScHoolboy Q, Sexyy Red, Daniel Caesar, Doechii, GloRilla, Lola Young, Santigold, and more.
Both Chromakopia and Don’t Tap the Glass were released on Mondays instead of the typical Friday schedule, which Tyler is passionate about.
“I kept telling n*ggas for a year-and-a-half, ‘Whatever I put out next, I’m putting that bitch out on a Monday,’” he told Billboard in December. “I’m not doing that stupid Friday shit. We’re putting that shit out on Monday, and everyone’s going to know about it.”
Despite the release of Don’t Tap the Glass, Tyler is still touring his last album until the end of September. The tour began in February with dates across Europe, North America, Oceania and Asia, including special guests Lil Yachty and Paris Texas.
He’s set to perform in Montreal, Toronto, Chicago, San Francisco, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Tokyo, and many other cities worldwide. He’s expected to play some of his new music at his shows.
