Tupac’s brother demands investigation into Diddy’s involvement in rapper’s death

Tupac Shakur’s brother, Mopreme Shakur, has admitted that he’s not fully convinced Sean ‘Diddy‘ Combs was not involved in the death of his brother.

Combs is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Centre in Brooklyn following his arrest in New York on September 16th. The Bad Boy founder was subsequently charged on counts of sex trafficking and racketeering. The rapper, who has pled not guilty to all three charges, is set to face trial in May, 2025.

While the death of Shakur in 1996 is not linked to the ongoing criminal case surrounding Combs, Mopreme made an appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored on October 11th, and explained his uncertainty surrounding his brother’s mysterious murder.

Since Shakur was killed, his death, along with the subsequent murder of Biggie Smalls, have remained the two biggest unresolved cases in hip-hop history. Significantly, last year, Duane Keith ‘Keffe D’ Davis was arrested in connection with his murder. Davis is set to go to trial in March, 2025, and has alleged that Combs offered him $1 million to gun down Shakur.

This isn’t the first time Diddy has been linked with the murder of Shakur. He previously denied any involvement with the killing to the Los Angeles Times in 2008, and Morgan began his interview by reading out Combs’ historic denial to Mopreme.

In response, Mopreme told the English broadcaster: “My opinion is that I don’t believe it was a 100 percent honest statement. So, again, we gotta find out what’s true and what’s false. What’s real and what’s fake.”

Furthermore, Mopreme alleged that Combs previously told him in person during a meeting in Los Angeles that he wasn’t involved with Tupac’s death. “[He] basically said he had nothing to do with my brother’s murder,” Mopreme claimed.

He continued: “I told him, ‘The truth is still yet to come out, so we’re going to see.’ Here we are, 27, 28 years later, it looks like there’s some doubt in that statement, along with all the other suspicions that people have.”

Mopreme concluded by stating “it’s time” for an official investigation into the allegations surrounding Diddy’s involvement.

Last week, it was revealed that the Shakur family had hired lawyer Alex Spiro to investigate any associations and involvement Combs may have had in the murder of the legendary American rapper.

Spiro is one of the most reputable lawyers in the world of entertainment. He currently represents Megan Thee Stallion, Jay-Z, Elon Musk, and, more recently, Alec Baldwin following the dismissal of his involuntary manslaughter case.
