Tupac Shakur family hires lawyers to investigate Sean “Diddy” Combs involvement
The family of the late rapper Tupac Shakur have hired a top attorney to investigate Sean “Diddy” Combs to establish whether there were any potential connections with his death.
The rapper’s family have hired Alex Spiro to investigate any associations and involvement Combs may have had in the murder of the American rapper. Shakur was killed in a drive-by shooting at the age of 25 during the peak of the East Coast-West Coast hip-hop rivalry in Los Angeles in 1996.
The case remained unsolved until a break occurred last year when Duane Keith “Keffe D” Davis was arrested in connection with his murder. Davis is set to go to trial in March next year and has alleged that Combs offered him $1 million to gun down Shakur.
Combs is currently facing racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution charges and faces life in prison if found guilty. Recently, it was revealed he faced a further 120 allegations of sexual assault.
Spiro is one of the most reputable lawyers in the world. He currently represents Megan Thee Stallion, Jay-Z, Elon Musk, and, more recently, Alec Baldwin following the dismissal of his involuntary manslaughter case.
Combs has long been associated with Tupac and his unexpected passing, usually regarding the rivalry between Shakur and The Notorious BIG, who was managed by Combs’ label, Bad Boy Records. The connection reflects the tensions during the East Coast-West Coast hip-hop feud, which intensified substantially during the 1990s and caused a rift between Combs’ label and Shakur’s.
Both Shakur and BIG were murdered within a year apart, but neither case was solved, which left room for widespread speculation about who was involved and what the motives were. Combs has always denied having any involvement, calling Davis’ accusations nothing more than a targeted fabrication.
This is a developing story.
