Tupac Shakur's sister condemns Donald Trump’s attorney for comparing him to the rapper

Tupac Shakur‘s sister has described comments made by Donald Trump’s attorney comparing him to the late rapper as “blasphemous”.

After Trump’s arrest, his attorney, Alina Habba, claimed the former president’s indictment in New York City makes him an equal of Biggie and Tupac. Habba made the comparison on The Benny Show podcast and claimed the incident would lead to an increase in popularity for the business mogul, as it previously did for the legendary hip-hop figures.

“Donald Trump is Tupac. Donald Trump is Biggie Smalls,” she claimed. “Donald Trump is his own brand. He is everything. This is just going to boost him. We have seen it in the polls. This is not a question. This is a fact.”

In response, Tupac’s sister Set Shakur condemned the remarks and claimed her late brother’s popularity stemmed purely from his music. She told TMZ: “My brother was measured by his integrity, his principles and personal and collective responsibility.”

“[Fans] were able to measure him by his words and actions that aligned,” she added before labelling the comparison “blasphemous” and telling Tupac fans to resist supporting Trump because of the comments made by Habba.

Meanwhile, Leila Steinberg, the former manager of Tupac Shakur, recently discussed the upcoming documentary Dear Mama on SiriusXM and explained that it explores the darker side of the music industry, adding that the way the industry works is largely to blame for Tupac’s downfall.

Steinberg said: “I have to sit here as someone who was close to Tupac until his death, who was present many times when I no longer worked with him in a managerial capacity. I was at lots of video shoots that he did. I was in the studio at Can-Am when he was with Suge. And this industry is so destructive that if I point the finger, I would say that executives and this industry had more to do with his collapse than anything.”
