Tupac Shakur murder suspect readying documentary ahead of trial
Keefe D, the man accused of playing a key role in Tupac Shakur‘s murder, is set to take part in a new documentary.
Keefe is accused of masterminding Tupac’s death, with the rapper being shot in Las Vegas on September 7th, 1996, and losing his life in the hospital just days later on September 13th.
According to Deadline, the documentary is being produced by British production company Pioneer Productions, who have secured access to Keefe D and his family.
Pioneer have connected with screenwriter and film producer Jon Aubrey Divens, part of the original Blade movies, to executive produce the documentary. Divens has a relationship with Keefe D and was key to securing exclusive rights.
The documentary will include Keefe D and his son, Lil Keefe, detailing the lead-up to the trial, the proceedings, and the aftermath.
It’s scheduled to be released following the murder trial, which is set to begin on August 10th, 2026.
Keefe D was arrested in September 2023 and is facing life in prison if found guilty. He was charged with one count of murder with a deadly weapon, with prosecutors claiming he orchestrated Tupac’s drive-by shooting.
He has pleaded not guilty and is being held at the Clark County Detention Center in Nevada without bail.
Keefe maintained his innocence during an interview with ABC News last year, claiming he had never killed anyone in his life.
“I’m innocent,” he said in his first interview behind bars. “I ain’t kill nobody. Never did, never killed nobody. They don’t have no evidence against me. Can’t even put me in Las Vegas. Prove that I orchestrated this. Your key witness orchestrated this. Their top witness is a lead suspect.”
