Judge pushes back Tupac Shakur murder trial

The murder trial for Tupac Shakur has been pushed back once again due to the court obtaining overwhelming evidence.

Keith ‘Keefe D’ Davis was previously scheduled to appear in court on February 9th, 2026, but the date has now been delayed to August 10th, 2026.

According to Complex, Davis’ attorney, Robert Draskovich, described the new information as “voluminous.” The new date will give his legal team six more months to review the prosecutors’ evidence.

This is the second time the trial has been pushed back, after being initially scheduled for March 17th, 2025.

Keefe D was arrested in September 2023 and faces a potential life sentence. He was charged with one count of murder with a deadly weapon, having been accused of orchestrating Tupac’s drive-by shooting in Las Vegas in 1996.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge and is currently being held at the Clark County Detention Center in Nevada without bail.

During a prison interview with ABC News earlier this year, Davis said, “I’m innocent. I ain’t kill nobody. Never did, never killed nobody. They don’t have no evidence against me. Can’t even put me in Las Vegas. Prove that I orchestrated this. Your key witness orchestrated this. Their top witness is a lead suspect.”

Prosecutors claim he incriminated himself in his Compton Street Legend memoir and during a BET interview. However, Davis claims he didn’t write the book and that the information was provided to him by the police.

“I shouldn’t have said nothing, and I’m innocent, man,” he said. “I’m being held against my will. I’m supposed to be out there enjoying my twilight [years]. God got my back, and God will see me through this.”
