Tupac Shakur murder suspect ‘Keefe D’ allegedly went undercover to implicate Diddy
As the attempt to find the killer of 2Pac continues in court, new evidence has surfaced which suggests the primary suspect, Duane ‘Keefe D’ Davis, purposefully went undercover to implicate Bad Boy founder Diddy in the murder.
In a recent legal file, prosecutors claim to have evidence that the Compton native flew from LA to New York with the police service in 2009 to acquire evidence he could use against the Bad Boy mogul and Harlem kingpin Eric ‘Von Zip’ Martin.
Davis agreed to go undercover with the police only months after he alleged that Diddy had offered him $1million to kill both Suge Knight and 2Pac. In his attempt to implicate the producer, Davis asserted that he received half of the payment alongside Von Zip.
Keefe D was operating as an “active confidential informant” in LA after Biggie Smalls was murdered in the city in 1997. He was made to become an undercover agent after he was caught trafficking a large amount of drugs.
In the 179-page document that has emerged, it is alleged that Davis flew to New York in a bid to “corroborate the conspiracy” to kill 2Pac. According to the evidence obtained by the prosecution, while Davis was “acting in an undercover capacity,” he met with Von Zip and then asked him for a favour of his nephew.
According to the prosecution, “After returning, [Keefe D] tried to enlist Mr. Martin in an effort to traffic narcotics. Mr. Martin indicated he was out of the business but directed him to conduct his drug activities with the nephew.”
Diddy is cited by name a total of 77 times in the legal filing, including in a transcript of Keefe D’s interview in which he accused the mogul of putting big money on 2Pac and Suge Knight’s heads.
This story counters various rumours that have been in hip-hop for years, such as the 2021 assertion made by Diddy’s former bodyguard Gene Deal that he once saw Von Zip carrying a $1million meant for Keefe D.
