Troy Ave shoots attempted robber in video footage

Troy Ave was recently involved in a shootout in San Diego. The Brooklyn rapper came to the defence of celebrity chef, Geoff Cole, during an attempted robbery.

In home security footage from the incident, Cole drives up to his house in a Bentley, with Ave getting out of the passenger side. As they walk towards the garage, an anonymous man appears behind and runs towards Cole.

According to TMZ, Ave then reached for his gun as the man dropped an apparent weapon, with Ave taking shots at the man while chasing him down the alley.

In the clip, Ave is shown firing at least two rounds, but it’s unclear whether he hit the suspect. After the incident, Cole took to Instagram to share the video and praise Ave for coming to his rescue.

“I came home after Celebrating the success of a sold out Chef Fest with Love & support from all over the West Coast! And a hater from the SAME CITY tried 2 take it all away!” he wrote. “This the 2nd time but it WON’T be a 3rd! s/o 2 my BROTHER Ave for Holding it Down in a situation where most woulda RAN or FOLDED.”

He continued, “I’ll never let the hate stop Me from showing LOVE! Ima keep giving artists OPPORTUNITIES & PLATFORMS, Ima Keep Gettin MONEY. And the ONLY thing im doing different now, is taking this SHOW ON THE ROAD.”

Despite Cole posting the footage on July 15th, the incident occurred in June following Chef Fest in San Diego.

Ave is best known for his 2015 track ‘She Belongs to the Game’, which has over 121 million Spotify streams. Other big songs include ‘Chuck Norris (Hoes & Gangstas)’ and ‘All About the Money’.
