The man accused of murdering Trouble has been sentenced to 20 years in prison. Jamichael Jones reached a plea deal with prosecutors on March 21st following the Atlanta rapper’s death in June 2022.

Trouble was shot and killed at the age of 34 during a home invasion in Rockdale County. According to Fox 5 Atlanta, officers responded to the scene after someone heard a woman scream for help and called 911. Jones reportedly forced himself into an apartment after breaking up with his girlfriend and moving out around a week before.
Jones found Trouble in the woman’s bed and started hitting his ex-girlfriend. The rapper attempted to stop the assault but was shot by the attacker. He later died at Rockdale County Piedmont Hospital. Officers couldn’t locate the gun but found a spent .40 calibre shell casing.
The convicted killer was linked to the shooting through surveillance footage and witness testimony, with his mother persuading him to turn himself in. Rockdale County Sheriff Eric Levette said, “His mother was a huge resource in helping us apprehend him.”
