
Trippie Redd arrested while trying to board Miami flight
Trippie Redd was arrested last week while trying to board a flight in Miami. The Ohio rapper (real name Michael L White) was attempting to fly from Miami International Airport to Europe on July 3rd when deputies handcuffed him.
According to the Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office, Trippie had a pending arrest warrant for an invalid driver’s license case in 2023.
WPLG Local 10 reports that Trippie was arrested at around 4:50pm at Terminal J when US Customs and Border Protection declared he had an active Miami-Dade County bench warrant. He was taken from Gate 17 to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Florida and released on a $150 bond.
In a comment on DJ Akademiks’ Instagram post after the arrest, Trippie wrote, “Was going to pick up 600k btw 2 shows smh that’s lil tho and my bond was $150.00 lmao but the channel 6 news played my song I made $750.00 off that.”
Trippie was reportedly on his way to France on flight LH1378. He was set to perform at the Les Ardentes festival in Liège, Belgium, on July 5th. Other artists on the lineup included Young Thug, Gucci Mane, 6ix9ine, Swae Lee, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Lil Tecca, Ty Dolla $ign, Latto, Mustard and many others.
The 26-year-old recently welcomed his daughter, Miyoco, born on June 17th, whom he shares with fellow rapper Coi Leray.
He released his last solo album, Mansion Musik, in January 2023. The project reached number three on the Billboard 200 with features from Travis Scott, Future, Lil Baby, Juice WRLD, Lil Durk, Kodak Black, Chief Keef, Nardo Wick, Rich The Kid, Ski Mask The Slump God, G Herbo, DaBaby and more.
