Trey Songz accused of attacking photographer in New York
Trey Songz has been accused of attacking a photographer in Long Island, New York, over the weekend. The singer allegedly assaulted a man and destroyed his equipment after a concert.
The alleged incident occurred at Ivy Kitchen and Bar in Huntington on July 13th. The photographer, Isaa Mansoor, posted footage to his Instagram page the following day. The since-deleted video appeared to show Songz punching the cameraman.
The video was captioned, “Trey Songz assaults me for trying to do my job.” In the clip, the restaurant owner tells Songz, “Yo chill, chill, that’s my guy,” to which he replies, “I don’t give a fuck who it is, bro.” He then appears to punch Mansoor, who claims he received physical injuries and over $5,000 worth of damage to his equipment.
According to TMZ, Mansoor had an X-ray and CT scan at the hospital and was diagnosed with a migraine, ankle pain, and a concussion.
A spokesperson for the Suffolk County Police Department on Long Island said, “An adult male reported a man damaged his camera equipment and punched him in the face at Ivy, located at 65 Wall St. in Huntington, on July 13th at approximately 3:50am. No one has been charged at this time.”
In response to the claims, Songz’s lawyer, Ted Anastasiou, said, “What happened at the Ivy was the result of increasingly aggressive paparazzi invading an artist’s personal space, conduct that puts everyone at risk and a trend that’s impacting not just Trey but artists everywhere.
“Trey disputes the characterisation of events, is cooperating fully with authorities and looks forward to the facts, not speculation, speaking for themselves.”
Earlier this year, Songz succeeded in his attempt to have a $11million battery lawsuit judgment dismissed by the judge. The singer and his security guard were accused of attacking a man after trying to rescue his wife, who was allegedly being held against her will.
