Travis Scott sued over alleged Miami yacht fight and death threats

Travis Scott has been sued over an alleged fight on a Miami yacht.

In June 2024, the Houston rapper was arrested for disorderly intoxication and trespassing at Miami Beach Marina.

According to Billboard, Scott is now facing a lawsuit that alleges he attacked and threatened the crew of a chartered yacht.

Boat captain Adrian Frometa and charter managers John Steve Holguin and Mirnesa Hasanovic are behind the civil assault claims.

The lawsuit, filed on July 11th, alleged that Scott rented a boat with three female guests. The captain claims Scott became intoxicated and aggressive, forcing him to end the trip early. Scott is accused of refusing to leave the boat, leading to an assault.

“Without any warning, Scott pushed Frometa from behind and then struck him with a closed fist to his neck and upper chest,” the suit reads. “Scott then began screaming at Frometa. Scott repeatedly threatened Frometa, including by stating that Frometa was ‘dead’ and that Scott was ‘going to kill’ him.”

The rapper is being sued for assault, battery, false imprisonment and intentional infliction of emotional distress, with the plaintiffs seeking unspecified financial damages.

Bradford Cohen, the lawyer who worked on Scott’s behalf, took to X (formerly Twitter) to address the news of the lawsuit.

“I represented Travis Scott on the Miami criminal case,” he said. “Both charges – disorderly intox and trespass – were DISMISSED. No basis in law or fact. Now a civil suit appears 2 years later. Read the charges from that night: no assault. No battery. Not even alleged. Documents, not headlines.”

He continued, “Hot take: the wrong party got sued. He chartered that boat. If the captain and crew cut the charter short, the breach of contract claim runs the OTHER direction – against the owner, captain, and crew. Don’t be surprised if a countersuit follows. Weak cases invite them.”
