Travis Scott and Skepta to headline Virgil Abloh honouring Mirror Mirror Festival

A one-day music festival has been set up by Virgil Abloh Securities, the organisation set up by the late Virgil Abloh. Mirror Mirror Festival will celebrate Abloh, and Travis Scott and Skepta will both headline the day. Playing alongside the pair are Yves Tumour, Pedro, Venus X, Bambii, Rampa, Acyde and Benji B.

Mirror Mirror will go ahead in Miami, Florida, at the FPL Solar Amphitheatre at Bayfront Park. Shannon Abloh, Virgil’s widow and the new CEO and MD of Virgil Abloh Securities, said, “With his close collaborators, we wanted to bring everyone together to celebrate Virgil, his legacy, his passion, and his care for others. He believed his real work was championing others, and we will continue his work supporting youth in the arts with the launch of the Virgil Abloh Foundation in 2023.”

Abloh passed away in November of last year after suffering from cancer in private for many years. He was an inspirational fashion designer who had several ongoing projects. He was the artistic director of menswear at Louis Vuitton since 2018, founded his own fashion line Off-White and was known to enjoy DJing.

Abloh was also well-respected in the music world, having created album covers for Pop Smoke’s Shoot for the Stars Aim for the Moon, Lil Uzi Vert’s Luv Is Rage 2 and Westside Gunn’s Pray for Paris. Following his death, a number of stars paid tribute to him, including Tyler, the Creator and Frank Ocean.

Originally, Abloh had been a trained architect who later worked in street fashion in Chicago. When he joined the Italian fashion brand Fendi in 2008 as an intern, he entered the world of international fashion forever. Kanye West was on that same internship, and Abloh later became Creative Director at Donda, West’s creative agency, in 2010.
