Tory Lanez shares new track ‘Ginobili’ from behind bars

The Canadian rapper Tory Lanez has released his first track since being convicted of shooting Megan Thee Stallion.

The song, ‘Ginobili’, features The Verse and is a tribute to the former San Antonio Spurs player Manu Ginobili. Some of the lyrics of the track appear as something of a warning to those who spoke out against the rapper since he was locked up, saying during the hook of the song that everyone who “shitted on me, I promise you’ll reap what you sow”.

Tory Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, was found guilty on all counts of shooting Megan Jovon Ruth Pete, better known as Megan Thee Stallion, in the feet during a drunken argument back in July 2020. The rapper behind such albums as Alone at Prom and Sorry 4 What faces up to 22 years and eight months in prison, his sentencing was delayed earlier this month.

Jose Baez, Tory Lanez’ lawyer wrote on his Instagram story earlier this week: “Today is national DNA day and we are happy to announce that Tory Lanez will be releasing information about the DNA in his case that gave false and misleading information to his jury #freetorylanez”.
