Tory Lanez claims his life is in danger over prison guard treatment

Tory Lanez has filed an emergency motion, claiming that his life is in danger.

The Canadian rapper is currently behind bars at the California Men’s Colony near San Luis Obispo, serving a 10-year sentence for shooting Megan Thee Stallion in 2020.

According to AllHipHop, federal documents have claimed that guards are retaliating against him with “escalating threats and intimidation tactics designed to push him into a more dangerous prison yard.”

A motion has claimed that the situation has become life-threatening, with officers making references to his near-fatal stabbing.

“[Tory Lanez] is receiving capricious violation write-ups for non-infraction activities which do not have a legitimate reason for correction, as these alleged violations only began after the filing of the underlying complaint,” his lawyer, Crystal Morgan, wrote.

She continued, “Such actions have a chilling effect on all people who are incarcerated as it demonstrates to Plaintiff and other individuals what will occur if they exercise their First Amendment right to redress the government for grievances.”

Morgan added that the situation was “ongoing, immediate, and escalating,” rather than being a past issue.

Lanez was stabbed and taken to the hospital in May 2025 after being attacked by another inmate. He claimed he was struck “approximately 16 times” during the incident, suffering wounds to his back, torso, face, and head.

As a result, he recently sued the California Department of Corrections and a corrections officer, seeking $100 million in damages.

Lanez was found guilty of assault with a semi-automatic firearm, having a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and discharging a firearm with gross negligence in 2022. He maintains his innocence, saying, “I’ve never been violent towards a woman. I would never hit a woman, let alone shoot a woman.”
