Tony Buzbee expected to file more than 10 lawsuits against Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs
More than ten civil lawsuits are expected to be filed against Sean ‘Diddy‘ Combs within the coming days. The announcement was made by Texas-based lawyer Tony Buzbee, who has filed multiple civil lawsuits against the incarcerated mogul and, last year, insisted he had more than 120 clients.
Buzbee revealed this new information as he filed another legal case in New York on behalf of an anonymous male who insists he was sexually assaulted by Combs in 2015. The Bad Boy founder’s legal team, headed by Marc Agnifilo, have responded to the new lawsuit, which details an assault at an afterparty.
The artist’s legal team has released a statement insisting that all of the allegations made against Combs concerning sexual harassment and trafficking are false, asserting, “Mr Combs and his legal team have full confidence in the facts and the integrity of the judicial process. In court, the truth will prevail: that Mr Combs never sexually assaulted or trafficked anyone—man or woman, adult or minor.”
Buzbee has not only filed lawsuits against Combs but was responsible for a lawsuit which named Jay-Z as a participant in an alleged 2000 rape at a VMAs afterparty. However, Jay-Z has fiercely denied these allegations and has asked the court to dismiss the case multiple times.
Tony Buzbee has unveiled that he will file more than 10 lawsuits in the next seven to 10 days. On March 1st, the New York City Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Act, which allows claimants to file civil lawsuits despite an expired statute of limitations, will no longer be in law. Buzbee has disclosed he intends to file as many lawsuits as he can before this date.
The latest anonymous lawsuit alleges that the John Doe got an opportunity to perform at a nightclub in the Los Angeles area, where Combs was in attendance. According to the lawsuit, Combs insinuated he was interested in potentially signing the act to Bad Boy Records, which he founded in 1993.
In the court papers filed by Buzbee, the accuser alleges that Combs told him he had an “excellent performance” and invited him to an afterparty where there were supposedly “countless bottles of Combs’ vodka, Ciroc,” as well as “substances such as marijuana, cocaine, and ecstasy.” The accuser insists an associate of Combs offered him a drink. The plaintiff then alleges he “quickly felt lightheaded” and realised he had been “drugged.” The lawsuit states that he then lost consciousness.
The anonymous accuser, named only as John Doe, proceeded to allege Combs was engaging in “group sexual activity” with other partygoers who appeared “either drugged, unconscious, or as if they were paid escorts.”
Combs, who is currently in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Centre, is currently facing more than 30 civil lawsuits alleging sexual assault and misconduct and is currently awaiting a federal criminal trial on sex trafficking and racketeering. He denies any wrongdoing.
