Three people shot during Lil Baby video shoot in Atlanta

Rapper Lil Baby has been inadvertently caught up in a new shooting, that has injured three people. Last September, a shooting took place at a Lil Baby concert in Memphis. Now, another shooting has now taken place, but this time, it was a drive-by during the filming of a music video in Atlanta.

The latest incident has resulted in the hospitalisation of three individuals. Several gunshots were heard in the Hidden Village Apartments on Verbena St., according to a local journalist. However, the Atlanta Police Department quickly stopped the online rumours by releasing an official statement.

The statement read, “On May 14th, 2024, at approximately 4:50PM, officers responded to 2179 Verbena Street NW in reference to several persons shot. Upon arrival, officers located a 24-year-old male who sustained an apparent gunshot wound to the arm and a 27-year-old male who sustained an apparent gunshot wound to the back. Both of the males were alert, conscious, and breathing and were transported to the hospital for treatment.”

It continued, “Officers later located a 23-year-old male, who had been self-transported to the hospital, with an apparent gunshot wound to the neck. That male was alert, conscious, and breathing and was being attended to by medical personnel. Preliminary investigation indicates that the incident occurred during a video shoot.”

The report concluded, “Investigators with the Aggravated Assault Unit responded to the scene to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. At this time, the investigation is ongoing.”

A Lil Baby fan caught the drive-by and its aftermath on their phone, which led to a social media firestorm. The video shows Lil Baby arriving at the filming location before gunshots start erupting.

Meanwhile, fans are expecting an imminent release of a new single and potentially, even an album. Lil Baby’s new project will be a follow-up to his 2022 album, It’s Only Me.
