The rapper who truly hates Kid Cudi

Kid Cudi has been a very neutral figure in hip-hop for a long time. Not one to enter into feuds, the emcee has always remained dedicated to making quality music and exceptional bodies of work for his fans. However, one rapper has a hatred for the Entergalactic creator and is relentless in his attacks.

Kid Cudi (real name Scott Mescudi) has only ever had issues with one artist, his former mentor and collaborator, Kanye West. Last year, the pair fell out over Pete Davidson. However, 2022 saw Kanye burn all his bridges. In 2018, the once-dynamic duo released their critically acclaimed album, Kids See Ghosts. But since then, there has been a significant divergence.

But, despite their sporadic Twitter spats, the disagreements were never fuelled by a deep-seated hatred for one another, merely contrasting outlooks on life. However, one artist who regularly addresses Mescudi online with pure vitriol is the Atlanta musician Lupe Fiasco.

Strangely, the tension between the two resulted from Kid Cudi attempting to mediate a painful exchange between Fiasco and Azealia Banks in 2015. Addressing both of them, the ‘Day N Nite’ lyricist wrote, “Dear Black artists, don’t talk down on the Black community like you are God’s gift to n*ggaz everywhere. If you wanna help, inspire, uplift, don’t point the blame and talk down.”

But Fiasco (real name Wasalu Jaco), happy to turn on anyone addressing him, swiftly told Cudi to “shut up.” He then tweeted, “How about you stop shitting on the people who really cared about your well-being when this biz was ripping you apart. Fake ass KidCudi.”

Since the exchange, Fiasco has made a concerted effort to troll and abuse Cudi. When a fan labelled Mescudi as a “GOAT,” Fiasco replied, “Oh, he a goat, but he a bitch.” However, the saga continued.

Following the infamous Will Smith Oscars slap, Fiasco took to Twitter to write, “I hope they can find some time to come to terms with what happened, reconcile, and move on. But it’s still Fuck Cudi 4 Life.”

Following all of this hate, a fan asked if he would ever stop hating Cudi, to which Jaco, replied, “Never. Fuck him 4 life. Outside of his musical genius, fame and success, Cudi is a really sneaky punk bitch ass bitch… it’s not even that controversial or spicy of a take. His personal resume outside the spotlight is trash.”

Akin to many high-profile artists, Cudi has paid little attention to the opinions of other rappers on Twitter and has continued to focus on himself and his own musical output. Since their initial exchange in 2015, Mescudi has released four albums, a clothing line and even his own Netflix animated special, Entergalactic. You can hear Jaco talk about the beef in the video below.
