The rapper who hates Kid Cudi "to this day"

INSANO musician Kid Cudi is rarely seen in a feud. However, there has been one stalemate he has been locked in for years, and that is with the Chicago singer Lupe Fiasco.

The two have been at odds for years, and Fiasco (real name Wasalu Jaco) has a hatred for the Entergalactic creator and is relentless in his attacks. The pair have had online Twitter spats and more. However, in an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, Kid Cudi unveiled that before fame, while working in New York’s flagship BAPE store, he had a clue that if he ever entered the industry, he wouldn’t get along with Jaco.

While speaking with Lowe, the ‘Day N Nite’ artist unveiled that he had a fear of Jaco over a decade ago. Revealing that it took place in 2008, Cudi explained, “Lupe Fiasco came to the store one day. I was in the back, and they were like, ‘Yo, Lupe’s here.’ I was like, ‘Oh shit!’ Stayed down the stairs [in the stock room] and waited until he left. [My colleagues] were like, ‘What you down here for?'”

He continued, “I explained it to my dude the same way I explained it to you. I was like, ‘Yo bro if I get famous one day, I don’t ever want this n*gga saying like, ‘He sold me clothes. Yo, my son!’ We can’t have that!'”

The emcee (real name Scott Mescudi) was looking ahead and thinking about the day he may get thrust into the limelight. However, even his hiding didn’t prevent their beef. Explaining this, he stated, “If you think about it, he hates me to this day! He hates me. So I was right. I was onto something. I sensed something in the universe. I was like, ‘Fuck this, I can’t have nobody making a diss record like, ‘Yeah, you rang me up, muthafucka.'”

Strangely, the tension between the two resulted from Kid Cudi attempting to mediate a painful exchange between Fiasco and Azealia Banks in 2015. But Mescudi hasn’t let it phase him.

Akin to many high-profile artists, Cudi has paid little attention to the opinions of other rappers on Twitter and has continued to focus on himself and his own musical output. Since their initial exchange in 2015, Mescudi has released four albums, a clothing line and even his own Netflix animated special, Entergalactic. You can hear Cudi speaking about it below.
