The Game reviews J Cole’s new album ‘The Fall-Off’

The Game has shared his in-depth thoughts on J Cole’s new album The Fall-Off.

Cole released his latest project on February 6th, serving as the follow-up to 2021’s The Off-Season.

Following its release, The Game listened to the album three times and gave a complete review of the project.

The Compton rapper, who previously worked with Cole on ‘Pray’ in 2012, gave each of the 24 songs a rating and posted his reaction to each of them.

“Went on a jog for a few hours & listened to J.Cole’s album thoroughly after a debate with the homies about what we should expect & not expect from a project we’ve all been anticipating,” he wrote on Instagram. “Me personally, when I listen to albums.. I listen 3 times back to back.”

Game went on to explain the intent he has going into each of the listens in order to give him a well-rounded perspective.

“1st listen is from a fans point of view cause I appreciate Cole’s music from a biased place of appreciation for his art like most people,” he said. “2nd I listened from a haters POV so I can purposely try to find things wrong to debate with the fan version of me. Plus I wanted him to fight with both hands up in that beef.”

He continued, “Lastly, I listen from the position of his peer/competitor & someone who has classic albums as well & knows how to put together full conceptual projects from start to finish.”

Game referenced his own upcoming album, The Documentary 3, while sharing his final thoughts. “That way, I can review & analyze from all sides,” he explained. “Above in the screenshots are my thoughts as I ran around LA with my headphones on locked in. These are just my opinions. Above all, I appreciate the art of hip hop & use albums to fuel me as I near completion of my own.”

He added, “I enjoy rap from every spectrum & wanted to leave this here with one of my favorite verses from ‘THE FALL-OFF’. I’m headed to studio, enjoy y’all’s weekend.”
