Tay-K claims he’s being released from Texas prison after new mugshots surface
Tay-K has claimed that he’ll be released from prison despite serving an 80-year sentence.
The 25-year-old rapper (real name Taymor McIntyre) is currently serving decades in prison for the murders of Ethan Walker in 2016 and Mark Saldivar in 2017.
However, Tay-K believes he’ll be a free man. In May, his sister posted an Instagram video of her having a conversation with “Taymor’s attorney.” After the call ends, she turns to someone and says, “Your son coming home!”
Following the video, the rapper took to his X account on June 8th, simply writing, “It’s true.”
The post comes shortly after new mugshots of Tay-K surfaced from behind bars this week.
Tay-K was found guilty of murder and aggravated robbery in 2019 and was convicted of murder once again in 2025.
In a letter to his fans in 2023, he wrote, “Not sure if y’all know but I got sentenced as an adult to 55 years in prison for a crime where I wasn’t even the shooter. I wasn’t even alleged to have a gun. I was never even suspected to have pulled a trigger or hurt anyone. I was young and didn’t have no positive figures around.”
He continued, “I love my fans and I don’t want any 1 to think I’m promoting or really recommending violence. That’s why I really dedicated a lot of my time in here to using the success of my music to have a positive impact on other young artists, even if it is something small like taking a phone call or writing a letter to keep them positively inspired, regardless of my situation. The movement is Eternal.”
Tay-K is best known for his hit single ‘The Race’, which reached number 44 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2017.
