Swizz Beatz has never argued with Alicia Keys after 15 years of marriage

Swizz Beatz has claimed he’s never argued with his wife, Alicia Keys, despite being married for 15 years. The couple married in 2010 after first meeting when they were teenagers, and they have two sons together: Egypt and Genesis.

The producer, best known for his affiliation with DMX and Ruff Ryders Entertainment, explained during a recent interview that he sees Keys as his best friend and that they’ve never even raised their voices at each other.

“Marriage is definitely a big word, but look at it like your best friend,” he told US Weekly. “The communication is there. We’ve never had an argument. Since we’ve been together, our kids [have] never seen it; never seen us raise our voice [or] never seen us yell. Never seen us curse at each other. Why? Because of communication.”

Although he admitted they do “disagree on things,” he claimed they healthily solve things and that shouting doesn’t help any situation. “When you yell at each other, no one is really listening anyway,” he said. “Nothing gets solved in each other’s yelling.”

Swizz stated that they see themselves as individuals, believing people often think of their partner as their property. “People think they can own people. You can’t,” he said. “It’s not property that you own. There’s a whole human, right?”

He continued, “So, we’re very clear on that. She’s her own boss. I’m my own boss. That’s how we make magic when we come together. I think that helps because people start getting very territorial and making their partner property, and I think that’s the biggest mistake.”

Swizz released his last album, Poison, in 2018, featuring Kendrick Lamar, Nas, Lil Wayne, Young Thug, Jadakiss, 2 Chainz, Pusha T and many others.
