
Swedish rapper Gaboro shot and killed in car park
Swedish hip-hop star Gaboro has reportedly been shot and killed. The shooting took place in a car park in Norrköping, located in the province of Östergötland in eastern Sweden, on the morning of December 19th.
Police said that a man in his 20s was found injured at the scene and later pronounced dead in hospital. Multiple outlets reported that the person who died was 24-year-old Gaboro (real name Ninos Khouri), who reportedly had ties to criminal gangs.
According to CBS News, a video of the killing has been circulating across social media, appearing to show the shooter wearing a camera and capturing himself holding a gun. He fired multiple shots in public as the victim attempted to escape.
In a statement issued on December 20th, Swedish police detailed what they described as “murder” and revealed details of a car that could be connected to the suspect.
“On Thursday evening, a man in his 20s died from his injuries after a shooting near a parking garage in Norrköping,” the statement began. “The police are still working very intensively on the case, which is classified as murder.
“The police are seeking witness information about a car that may be relevant to the case. It is a silver-coloured station wagon. If you have seen anything in connection with the incident, related to the vehicle or anything else that may be of interest to the investigation, you should contact the police via 11414.”
They added, “Deputy local police chief Johan Qvarfordt is available for short interviews with the media between 12:30 and 14:30 on Friday. Interviews will take place by phone or on site at the Norrköping police station. Please note that details about the investigation as such will not be provided during these interviews.”
Gaboro has over 222,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, and his biggest single, ‘Harki’, boasts 11 million streams. Other big songs include ‘Suavemente’, which has 10 million streams, as well as ‘Bogota’ and ‘Blanco’, which have eight million plays.
The murder comes just months after another masked Swedish rapper, C.Gambino (real name Karar Ramaden), was shot dead in a car park at the age of 26.
