Stormzy joins Dave at Parklife for surprise performance

Dave surprised fans during his headline performance at Manchester’s Parklife festival this weekend by inviting Stormzy on stage with him to perform their landmark bop, ‘Clash’.

Over the course of the weekend, tens of thousands made their way to Heaton Park to watch a list of names including Little Simz, Slowthai, Migos, Disclosure, Megan Thee Stallion, AJ Tracey, Four Tet, Peggy Gou, with Dave and Skepta, respectively headlining each day of the event.

For Dave, his set was a momentous occasion as it was the first time that the rapper had ever headlined a festival, and judging from the clips that have emerged, it won’t be his last.

He delivered a rousing performance that saw him rip through renditions of tracks from his debut album Psychodrama and his chart-topping sophomore effort, We’re All Alone In This Together. Dave ended the set in firebreathing fashion as he introduced his friend, Stormzy, to join him on stage, and they delivered an electric take on ‘Clash’.

Hip Hop Hero‘s review of his new album said, “We’re All Alone Together is an album in the purest sense and a worthy sequel to Psychodrama. Dave is an intuitive three-dimensional storyteller with countless layers to him as both an artist, and a person, which he lets unravel across the record.

“It was challenging to argue against Dave being the most skilful rapper in Britain after Psychodrama, but We’re All Alone Together makes this task impossible and confirms his place at the throne.”
