Snoop Dogg honours Tupac Shakur with ‘2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted’ wine
Snoop Dogg has paid tribute to Tupac Shakur by launching a new wine called 2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted.
The Long Beach rapper is celebrating three decades of his and 2Pac’s iconic collaboration, ‘2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted’, by turning it into an alcoholic beverage.
The song, which appeared on Tupac’s final album, All Eyez on Me, in 1996, is one of the most iconic hip-hop songs of all time.
A collaboration with Treasury Wine Estates, the limited edition wine is described as a “Petite Sirah-dominant red blend that features notes of toasty oak, dark fruit, toffee, and baking spice.” It’s being released under the Cali by Snoop brand.
In a statement, Snoop said, “It’s hard to believe it’s been 30 years since Pac and I got together to make ‘2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted.’ Nobody did it like us, and I can’t think of a better way to honour his legacy than with a drink.”
He added, “This wine is perfect for celebrating with loved ones, and I’m looking forward to the people pourin’ a little out with me for my friend.”
The label design includes a famous image from the 1996 VMA Awards, along with a Tupac tribute written by Snoop.
Treasury Wine Estates’ senior vice president of brand, innovation, and partnerships, John Wardley, said, “It’s been an absolute privilege to work with Snoop Dogg and the Tupac Estate to develop a wine celebrating this historic collaboration, and worthy of two of hip-hop’s greatest icons.”
He continued, “The ‘Cali by Snoop’ range has always pushed the boundaries of traditional wine culture. We are proud to honour Tupac and Snoop’s legacy with a truly unique wine.”
Produced by Daz Dillinger and released on Death Row Records, ‘2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted‘ has over 362 million Spotify streams, with the music video boasting 65 million YouTube views.
