Snoop Dogg sells smoked blunts for almost $150,000 at auction

Snoop Dogg has a ton of revenue streams, but his latest might be the strangest yet. The Long Beach rapper sold burned blunts for nearly $150,000 during a recent auction.

Snoop, together with Erica Kovitz, put together a collection called “Ashes to Art,” which combined smoked roaches and an old mugshot. Bids started at $9,000 and closed on August 18th.

In total, the collection earned $148,100. Among the items was the “Snoop Doggy Dogg Genesis Burn,” which featured his 1993 LAPD mugshot, marijuana ash, and a roach he smoked, selling for $70,000.

“DoggyStyle Decoded” also included an original Doggystyle CD, a used joint tip and a metal ashtray, selling for $16,500.

“History enters the art world,” The Joint Venture wrote on Instagram. “This is the first of its kind fine art collection featuring smoked roaches by Snoop Dogg preserved forever in crystal clear epoxy, layered with marijuana resin, framed in luminous acrylic, some with glow in the dark pigments and LED lighting.

“From bold single roach panels to an ultra-exclusive 16 roach masterpiece, each work is a cultural artefact, a fusion of hip-hop history, pop culture, and fine art. Every piece from the Ashes to Art series was personally signed by Snoop Dogg, with roaches supplied by the Doggfather himself.”

They added, “Select works also feature his resurrected early career Snoop Doggy Dogg signature, making them rare beyond measure.”

Snoop is widely known for smoking weed. In 2022, his blunt roller claimed he smoked between 75 and 150 joints every day. However, he disputed that.

“Bitch said I smoke 450,000 — bitch, this is all in a day’s work. Stop lying,” he said in a video while zooming in on 10 blunts. “Fuck I’ma smoke all that weed in one day? What am I, a fuckin’ machine? Bitch, this is the roaches. See, roaches.”
