How Snoop Dogg thinks he could end a royal feud: “Life is too short”
Over the years, Snoop Dogg has often admired the British royal family. He’s also claimed to have a healthy relationship with royalty, including Queen Elizabeth II, Prince William and Prince Harry. The brothers have had an estranged relationship recently, with Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, stepping back from their royal roles and moving overseas.
Harry has been open about their disputes, providing information in his 2023 memoir, Spare. Insiders told the Daily Beast, “William feels utterly betrayed by Harry. He hates him for what he has done to the family in the books and interviews. It’s no secret William would prefer it if Harry never stepped foot in England again.”
However, Snoop believes he can act as a peacemaker between them. Speaking to The Mirror, the Long Beach legend stated he will do whatever it takes to bring William and Harry back together. He claimed he couldn’t attend William’s stag do due to other commitments, but he’s ready to make up for it. If a private performance will fix their rift, then so be it. Leave it to the Doggystyle rapper to take care of.
“Harry and William, I have known for a long time now,” he said. “Harry asked me to perform at William’s bachelor party but I couldn’t make it. Anything they want to perform at now, I am there. They are brothers, man. Anything that gets them in the same room and being brothers again will be worth it. Life is too short to not make things right, and if Snoop can help heal that relationship, then let’s do it.”
In 2015, Snoop opened up about William and Harry being fans of his music. He made the claim while alleging that Queen Elizabeth II personally stopped him from being kicked out of the UK. “When they tried to kick me out of England, the Queen made a comment that her grandbabies loved Snoop Doggy Dogg, and he had done no wrong in the UK, so she gave me permission to be here,” he told The Guardian.
“Those grandbabies grew up to be Prince William and Harry, so I had influence on them, and they had influence on their grandmother, which enabled me to get into this beautiful country. They love my music, and it is what it is. There’s a mutual love and respect.”
Snoop once revealed that he wanted to perform at King Charles III’s coronation in 2023. “His Royal Highness, meet His Rollin’ Highness,” he told The Sun. “I’m down to perform at the coronation. Make it happen.”
In another interview with the Daily Express, he called Queen Elizabeth II his “gal” and stated he would drop everything to be at the ceremony. “Tell Charles to give me a holla! The Queen was already my girl, the Queen was my gal, she was my kind of gal,” he said. “So all the Prince has to do is say, ‘Check it out, Dogg, I need you in the house,’ and I’ll show up and show out!”
