Sexyy Red sues security guard over $500,000 Florida burglary

Sexyy Red has filed a lawsuit against a security guard over alleged stolen items.

The St Louis rapper is having a busy year, releasing her debut album Yo Favorite Trappa Favorite Rappa in April, but she’s still dealing with issues from last year.

According to TMZ, Red has sued a security guard, claiming she and her family were victims of a robbery in Florida.

She alleges that $500,000 worth of items were stolen from a property she rented for her mother’s birthday on January 12th, 2025, and she’s seeking the total amount in damages.

Red claims that a masked person entered the property through an unlocked door and robbed necklaces, charms, rings, bracelets, watches, and designer handbags, totalling half a million dollars.

A man named Carl Thompson has been blamed for the incident, with Red alleging he was the last person to leave the home before the burglary took place.

Thompson initially sued Red in August 2025, claiming she owed him $285,000 for his role as a security guard. However, the rapper denied his claims and filed a countersuit.

Not only did Red release Yo Favorite Trappa Favorite Rappa this year, but she also had multiple appearances across Drake’s new albums.

She featured on ‘Cheetah Print’ from Maid of Honour and ‘Hurrr Not Thurr’ on Habibti, having previously collaborated on ‘Rich Baby Daddy’ from 2024’s For All the Dogs and ‘U My Everything’ from In Sexyy We Trust that same year.

Speaking on working with Drake, Red said, “Working with Drake [is] always fun as hell ’cause he really be in his bag. And for real, for real, he got the best ear in music.”
