Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs to reject any plea deal, lawyer confirms

Sean ‘Diddy‘ Combs plans to refuse any potential plea deal and plots to fight all the charges against him, according to his lawyer. In early September, the Bad Boy founder was indicted and arrested after allegations of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation of sex workers across state lines.

That said, despite a plea deal likely reducing any sentence he may get, the mogul is confident that he will beat the case, and doesn’t plan to discuss a potential agreement with the authorities. Furthermore, there is also no plea deal currently available to the rapper and talk of such from Diddy’s camp is currently hypothetical.

In a clip posted by TMZ of their upcoming documentary, The Downfall Of Diddy: The Indictment, an interview with Diddy’s attorney Marc Agnifilo was shown.

In the documentary, Agnifilo restates that Diddy will never take a plea deal and that he wants to testify so he can speak and defend himself in a federal trial. Speaking to TMZ, Agnifilo explained, “It’s up to Mr. Combs, and I don’t see it happening. Because he believes he’s innocent. And what’s more, he believes he needs to stand up. Not just for himself. For his family and everybody that’s been targeted by the federal government.”

He added, “Mr Combs feels, A: he’s innocent, that’s why he’s not gonna plead guilty. B: He’s gonna be truthful about this case because he wants to portray that to the people who have loved him his whole life. And, I think he also feels an obligation to people in general.”

In fact, Agnifilo insisted that Diddy is eager to testify because he wants to clear his name after six months of non-stop lawsuits and horrifying allegations which he denies.

Describing the producer’s willingness to speak out, the attorney continued, “I don’t know that I can keep him off the stand. I think he is very eager to tell his story. And I think he will tell every part of his story including what you see on the video. I expect it’s gonna be explained by the both of us.”

Diddy was desperate to receive bail, allegedly offering $50 million. However, his request was denied because he was a flight risk. The upcoming trial will be one of the most significant legal battles in hip-hop history, and until then, the artist will remain behind bars.

If found guilty, he could face life in prison with no chance of parole. Combs denies all of the charges against him.

His latest comments come after Agnifilo previously said on September 16th following Combs’ arrest, “He is an imperfect person, but he is not a criminal. To his credit, Mr Combs has been nothing but cooperative with this investigation, and he voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of these charges. Please reserve your judgment until you have all the facts.”
