Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs overdosed in 2012, Cassie reveals
During the trial of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs in New York City on May 15th, singer Cassie Ventura was cross-examined on the stand. It was claime that Combs overdosed in 2012 on painkillers.
Ventura began her testimony on May 13th and is expected to be at the stand until the end of proceedings on May 16th. Combs is charged with five counts of sex trafficking, racketeering, and sexual abuse. He has pleaded not guilty to all of the charges.
After defence attorney Anna Estevao brought up the incident, Cassie provided more details. Estevao asked Cassie if she recalled the overdose in February 2012, and Ventura asked, “Was that around the time Whitney Houston died?”
She went on to expand on the story. The night of his overdose, Cassie revealed, the pair had gone to a sex club together in Los Angeles, and then went on to a party in the Playboy mansion. Cassie left the party, but later returned to Combs’ side when she learned that he had overdosed on painkillers.
Combs told Ventura he took a “very strong opiate”, so she testified that she took him to the hospital, where she claims to have learned that Combs had overdosed on painkillers.
Ventura has previously recounted that Combs would allegedly experience violent fits of jealousy if she were dating other men. In one instance, this led to Combs setting rapper Kid Cudi’s Porsche on fire. But at this point in her testimony, she also revealed that Combs would grow jealous when she was doing drugs with friends, and not him.
Her drug-taking habits were a big focus of the day. Ventura has been open about her prior dependence on opioids, as well as her use of MDMA, ecstasy, ketamine, mushrooms, cocaine, marijuana and other drugs. She attended rehab in 2023 and testified that she has not taken drugs since.
Combs has pleaded not guilty to all of the charges.
