Cassie testifies that Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs blew up rapper Kid Cudi’s car
During the trial of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs in New York City on May 14th, Cassie Ventura alleged that Combs had planned to blow up the car of rapper Kid Cudi, who she had begun dating in 2011.
Ventura began her testimony on May 13th and is expected to be at the stand for several more days. Combs is charged with five counts of sex trafficking, racketeering, and sexual abuse. He has pleaded not guilty to all of the charges.
Ventura was probed by the prosecution at the end of her on-and-off relationship with Combs, and it was revealed that she had begun seeing Kid Cudi, whose real name is Scott Mescudi. Much of this information had previously surfaced in her civil suit against Combs, which was settled in 24 hours for $20 million.
The arson attack in question occurred on January 9th, 2012, when a Porsche owned by Mescudi was set on fire. On the stand, Ventura claimed that Combs had spoken about blowing up the car out of jealousy. He also mentioned that Combs wanted Mescudi’s friends to see the explosion, Cassie stated.
When Mescudi next ran into Combs and Cassie, Cassie testified that Mescudi asked Combs, “What about my vehicle?” Combs replied, “What vehicle?”
In 2011, Cassie said, Combs discovered by looking through her phone during a ‘freak-off’ that she had begun dating the rapper. When Combs found out about Cassie and Mescudi’s relationship, she claims he threatened her physically with a “wine bottle opener”, and allegedly threatened to release two ‘freak-off’ videos.
In explaining her decision to break up with Mescudi near the end of 2011, Ventura said there was “too much danger, too much uncertainty of what could happen if we continued to see each other.”
Combs has pleaded not guilty to all of the charges.
