Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ lawyers propose a “far more robust” motion for bail
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has been behind bars in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Centre since September, and reports coming out of the facility have insisted that he is struggling in the jail. Despite three bail motions being denied by the judge, Combs’ lawyers insist that they now have “new evidence” that proves the Bad Boy founder deserves bail.
Combs’ legal team has described the new motion as “far more robust” than the last three and, according to the Associated Press, conditions would see the enforcement of nonstop security monitoring a complete restriction on Combs’ ability to communicate with anyone but his lawyers. However, the bail request is still set at $50million.
The new evidence, according to his lawyers, “makes clear that the government’s case is thin”. It attempts to discredit the prosecution’s claim that the leaked CCTV footage of Combs’ beating Cassie Ventura in 2016 was the singer attempting to flee a “freak off” and insists that the prosecution has failed to put the video into context.
Combs’ legal team assert that the leaked footage was simply “a minutes-long glimpse into a complex but decade-long consensual relationship” between two adults. The defendant’s lawyers also insist that the mogul being held in the Metropolitan Detention Centre violates his constitutional rights as a US citizen.
The centre is currently being investigated as part of an “interagency operation”, but Combs has resided there since his arrest on September 16th. The Cîroc businessman remains charged with alleged trafficking and racketeering but has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Many are scared about the Press Play creator receiving bail, and earlier this month, Harem native Azealia Banks took to X (formerly Twitter) to theorise that Combs may receive bail now that Kamala Harris has officially lost the race to the White House. Banks began, “This n*gga diddy is REALLY trying to get out on bail .. now that Kamala has lost, I’m f*cking scared that might actually happen.”
Speaking about the contents of the latest bail motion, Banks continued, “Lol, the lawyer said he got NEW EVIDENCE that the prosecutors’ case is thin…. mad vague and ominous. No, the birthday at Central Bookings Jail birthday breakfast menu had me CRYINGGG. Like noooooooo.”
She added, “Said the n*gga had cereal, a banana, and a breakfast cake. It’s the breakfast cake for me. We will gag if the lawyer got evidence of the DNC using the Diddybox to coerce celebrities into endorsing Kamala, and that’s how he gets off. Omg, the industry will quakeeeee. The DNC will really lose all of its supporters if that’s the case because ‘new evidence’ all of a sudden is sooooooooooo crazy.”
