Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ daughters break silence on “amazing” father’s prison sentence
Sean ‘Diddy‘ Combs’ daughters have spoken about their father’s prison conviction for the first time.
The Bad Boy rapper was sentenced to 50 months in prison after being found guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
During a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, his twin daughters, Jessie and D’Lila, who have just launched their own clothing line, broke their silence on their dad.
When asked about their relationship with their father, they said, “It’s great. We definitely are very close, and he gives the best advice. Also, clothing; he’s very, very knowledgeable in that aspect. So yeah, we ask him all the time, ‘We need help on this, we need help on that.'”
They continued, “He’s always gonna be there, and he’s always gonna tell us the right answers. He’s literally never wrong. Everything he has told us about this, it’s been so helpful.”
The sisters discussed how their father is coping with life behind bars at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey. “He’s been very focused, being a better person for his family,” they said. “He’s just always been there for us.”
They went on to praise Combs for being “an amazing dad,” adding, “He’s the best dad.”
Asked if he’s strict, they replied, “He used to be. I feel like when we were maybe like five. Not strict, but he’s a Black dad. I mean, if you know, you know. It’s not strict, but it’s structure. All of his kids have amazing structure. I’m honestly grateful for that, because now, we’re perfect. His strictness, which I wouldn’t really say strictness, has helped us for the better. A fun dad, though.”
As for the best piece of advice Combs has given them for 12TWINTY1, they said, “‘Take your time’. He always would tell us, ‘Take your time.’ Because we wanted to rush this. The first day we got the idea of the clothing line, we were like, ‘Can we drop this next week?'”
