
ScHoolboy Q announces new album ‘THANK QUE’
ScHoolboy Q has announced details for his new album.
The TDE rapper released his last project, Blue Lips, over two years ago, but he’s preparing to return with new music.
Q took to social media on July 8th to reveal that his next album is titled THANK QUE and that it will include 12 tracks.
“New cHapter: Wrapping up tHis 12 song album called ‘THANK QUE,'” he wrote on his Instagram Stories. “Been working on tHis for a minute. Yes I’m coming back.”
The news comes on the 10th anniversary of his acclaimed album, Blank Face LP. Q acknowledged the occasion, revealing that he’s planning a concert at the Hollywood Palladium to celebrate the project.
“Blank face LP turns 10,” he wrote. “Appreciate everybody.. fuck it let’s do 1 sHow in LA at tHe palladium.. fuck it new vinyl 2.”
Blue Lips was released in March 2024 with features from Ab-Soul, Freddie Gibbs, Rico Nasty, and others. It debuted at number 13 on the Billboard 200 chart.
During an interview with Rolling Stone, Q stated that it was the album he was always trying to record.
“I feel like I made it. I finally made an album I’ve been trying to make. It feels really good,” he said. “The pocket and the maturity, the style of rapping, the beats, the execution, the confidence. Just going in and just making an album with freedom, pretty much. That shit just feels good. I wanted to do it like this. I wanted this to sound like that.”
It served as his first album in five years following CrasH Talk, which dropped in 2019 with guest spots from Travis Scott, Lil Baby, 21 Savage, Kid Cudi, YG, and more.
