Sauce Walka and Sayso P shooting suspect arrested on murder charges

A man has been arrested in connection with the shooting of Memphis artists Sauce Walka and Sayso P, which left the latter rapper dead.

23-year-old Kevin ‘KJ’ Brown was charged with first-degree murder, two counts of employing a firearm during a dangerous felony, and theft of property.

According to Action News 5, Brown, who was on the run, was detained on October 22nd in Clarksville, Tennessee. US Marshals arrested him at a motel on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard and took him to Montgomery County Jail.

The incident occurred on March 22nd at around 2:40pm outside the Westin Hotel near Lt. George W Lee Avenue and Second Street. Sayso P was pronounced dead at the scene, while Walka was taken to the hospital in non-critical condition.

Multiple people reportedly pulled up in a white car and fired bullets at Walka, who was shot in the leg, and Sayso P, who lost his life. A suspect vehicle was identified, and police moved to make an arrest.

Walka paid tribute to Sayso in an Instagram post following his death, revealing his heartbreak about the killing.

“Words or tears can’t explain the loss I feel!” he wrote. “Splatt, I wish your fat ahh listened to me and stayed in the room. I told you we could smoke that blunt after security and the rest of our familia pull up… Sosaman told you, ‘F dat weed, wait til we leave an hit Superior first.’”

He continued, “You always so hardheaded blood, but you know I’ma ride wit you regardless. We come together, we leave together. Wish you just went [to] DR with Shimmy and shot off, and skipped this trip to Memphis, but you was to excited I finally agreed to come to da ‘M.’”
