Sauce Walka pleads guilty to evading police in high-speed Texas chase
Sauce Walka has pleaded guilty to evading police in a high-speed chase that took place a couple of years ago. The Houston rapper (real name Albert Mondane) appeared in the Harris County, Texas, court on October 16th.
Walka admitted to leading police on a 130mph chase in 2023 after missing a hearing the day before. The judge then issued a warrant for his arrest.
The 35-year-old claimed that he missed the hearing due to miscommunication with his team. According to XXL, he was then sentenced to two years of probation, specifically deferred adjudication.
He has also been ordered to complete 50 hours of community service and pay $500 to the Houston Area Women’s Center. If the terms are violated, he’ll face between two and 10 years in prison.
The initial incident occurred on December 7th, 2023, when Walka was spotted running a red light in a 2021 Jeep Tracker in Harris County. When police asked him to pull over, he sped off and was chased for over two miles.
Ultimately, he crashed the car after losing control of the vehicle and was taken into custody. He was then released on $35,000 bond.
Walka was hospitalised in March 2025 following a shooting in Memphis. The incident left the rapper injured but in non-critical condition; he was taken to the hospital with a wound to the leg. Another man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A Memphis Police Department spokesperson said, “This appears to be a targeted shooting incident. The victims were outside by a vehicle. The suspect vehicle pulled up. Multiple people got out of that vehicle, fired shots without engaging in any conversation, they got back into the white vehicle and fled.”
