Sacramento Kings owner clowns Drake after dissing Demar Derozan
Scorpion creator Drake was recently trolled by Sacramento Kings NBA owner Vivek Ranadivé after he criticized player Demar DeRozan for his small role in his beef with Kendrick Lamar earlier this year.
Demar DeRozan previously played for the Toronto Raptors. However, he now plays for the Sacramento Kings. That said, DeRozan made his first appearance in Toronto since leaving the Raptors recently, and Drake was courtside.
The basketball player is a Compton native. As such, he supports those from his city doing well. Earlier this year, while Drake was being publicly humiliated, he appeared in the video for Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’. Furthermore, he made an appearance at Lamar’s Pop Out concert.
Although Drake didn’t say anything at the NBA game between the Kings and Raptors, he did have some rather direct words for him during a post-game interview he did with the Canadian sports network TSN. Speaking to the broadcaster, he stated, “If you ever put up a DeRozan banner, I’ll go up there and pull it down myself. Unfortunately, we’re playing this goof tonight, but it is what it is.”
However, Ranadivé doesn’t take well to disrespect, especially when it comes to his players. As such, on November 6th, when the Kings played the Raptors at home in San Francisco, the owner decided to troll Drzzy by wearing a sweatshirt with the title of the chart-topping Drake diss, ‘They Not Like Us.’ To make matters worse, the Kings beat Drizzy’s home team 122-107.
Before he did this, DeMar DeRozan himself responded to Drake’s petty comments about ripping down banners, telling TSN, “He’s gonna have a long way to climb, I’ll tell you that.”
DeRozan previously explained his allegiance to Kendrick Lamar during a recent appearance on The Breakfast Club, where he explained that although he also has love for Drake, he supports his people, highlighting, “At the end of the day, I’m from Compton. My city, where I’m from, where I was born, where my family still lives, that comes first before anything,”
He continued, “I feel like any real person would understand that. It’s so crazy because my second home became Toronto, that has one of the greatest [rappers] of all time coming from there, too.”
Joe Budden commented on Drake’s demeanour throughout the Tornot Raptors game on his podcast and commented on his attempting to look mean, stating, “All that standing at the game, the ice grilling, the face, the mumbling under the breath. We’re n*ggas and we’re respectful so we not gonna say it… but you a bitch!”
He continued to laugh at him, adding, “He went to the game and cut his eyes. Ooh, these are the duck lips of death! Talk about duck tales. Yo, don’t come to my game and cut eyes at me, my n*gga. I’ll throw this ball at you.”
