Royce Da 5'9" discusses The Game and Eminem comparison

Royce Da 5’9″ has weighed into The Game’s comments about being a better rapper than Eminem.

During his controversial appearance on the Drink Champs podcast, The Game made viewers raise eyebrows when he said he now believes he’s a greater artist than Eminem. However, he did admit that he didn’t previously think this way.

The Game also discussed a potential Verzuz battle with Shady and said he’s somebody he’d love to square off against. He told hosts N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN: “I like Eminem, he’s one of the fucking good MCs, great MCs.”

He continued: “I used to think Eminem was better than me.” The rapper was then asked if he still feels that way, to which he replied: “He not. He not. He’s not. Challenge it.”

N.O.R.E then told Game he “doesn’t wanna go VERZUZ against Eminem”; however, he disagreed, and said, “Yeah I do”.

Now, during an Instagram Live with Mike Zombie, Royce Da 5’9″ has given his thoughts on the debate. “I don’t think I remember a time when Game ain’t been top-tier with the raps,” he said.

Royce then said that while he thinks every MC should believe they are the best, he also cynically added that mentioning Eminem’s name will generate headlines.

“Game is a monster,” Royce added. “He’ll just have his hands full. Em is a hard dude to out-rap because nine times out of ten, you gon’ be sending him your verse or when he get your verse, he gonna aim to out-rap you. He ain’t probably get out-rapped ever. I don’t care what the scenario is. That competitive edge is always there. Like, he never loses that.”
