Remy Ma and Papoose have truly been the definition of ‘Black Love’. Brought together through their love of music, their marriage has been a beautiful example of how, even in the harsh, aggressive world of hip-hop, love can be found.

Papoose and Remy Ma showcased their relationship for years on the American reality TV programme Love And Hip Hop: New York and, by doing so, helped change the negative narratives and preconceptions surrounding hip-hop and its presentation of relationships.

However, their relationship has allegedly been deteriorating. In a 2023 rap battle between Eazy The Block Captain and Geechi Gotti, the latter performed a verse that set all of hip-hop alight as he accused Remy Ma of cheating on her husband, rapping, “And you ain’t off the hook either/ If you gon’ cheat, at least cheat wit’ a n*gga that can fight / n*gga you know this ain’t right Remy! You are up here supportin’ the victim / He done had six Chrome events, Papoose was at all of ’em / How come he ain’t at this one?!”

He continued, “If n*ggas found out you was fuckin’ the help, that could really ruin your image / We talkin’ Barack and Michelle, Pap’ and Rem’ / n*gga that’s us, y’all the poster child symbol for black love / n*gga wouldn’t even think that y’all marriage still had to go through them stages.”

Ever since Geechi Gotti suggested Remy Ma had cheated on Papoose, the previously happily married pair have been dishing the dirt on each other, and it has culminated in a saddening state of affairs. The pair have been trading explosive allegations, and recently, Papoose accused the Bronx lyricist of “repeatedly” cheating on him and even labelled her a “narcissist.”

Taking to Instagram, the Sharades creator wrote, “Sad to say that @remyma Is a narcissist. She chose to cheat repeatedly. Now that I finally moved on, she’s playing the victim. I have requested a divorce numerous times. She rather clout chase on social media. Than handle this like civilized adults.” Pap continued, adding, “I did not wanna do the social media foolishness. For the sake of my 6 year old baby. She has to go to school. As you can see I remained quiet through this all.”

However, Remy Ma has her own side of the story and the Terror Squad emcee has gone all out on her husband, claiming that he was in an affair with Claressa Shields. In the comment sectiuon of a blog post, the Castle Hill native wrote, “papoose dum ass fell asleep on the phone with @claressashields. Laying in my house he refuses to leave . This bitch supposed to be a world champion boxer and get scary ass hung up soon as she heard my voice.”

Furthermore, the ‘Whuteva’ hitmaker shared alleged DMs between Papoose and Shields in an attempt to prove her points.
