Ray J hospitalised after being knocked out in fight
Ray J has been hospitalised after being knocked out in a fight over the weekend.
The ‘One Wish’ singer took part in a celebrity MMA match on May 23rd against YouTuber Supa Hot Fire.
The fight, which was part of livestreamer Adin Ross’ UFC Apex event in Las Vegas, ended in the second round.
According to TMZ, Ray checked himself into the hospital two hours after the event. He’s been in the hospital since and is being treated for his heart beating slower and a potential concussion.
During an interview after the fight, Ray suggested that there was a plan for the match that Supa Hot Fire didn’t follow.
“Damn, bro … like that? For real … that’s janky as fuck,” he said “I don’t want to say too much because I don’t want to get nobody in trouble, but damn … we took an L tonight. You know how much money we lost? Wow … wow.”
The fight happening in the first place seems bizarre, considering Ray’s recent health issues. After returning home from the hospital due to pneumonia and heart pains, he claimed he would die next year.
In a video posted to Instagram in January, he said, “2027 is definitely a wrap for me. That’s what they say.” A friend told him, “Don’t say that, fuck the doctor,” with Ray then shaking his head and putting his face in his hands.
He continued, “I shouldn’t have went this hard, bro. My baby mama gonna be straight, my kids gonna be straight, if they wanna spend all the money, they can spend it. I did my part here.”
Ray even went as far as stating that he wanted to be cremated, rather than buried.
