Rapper shot 17 times in the back by off-duty police officer
Atlanta rapper B Green was shot and killed last month. Now, the results of the autopsy have been revealed.
It’s been confirmed that the 44-year-old rapper (real name Linton Blackwell) was shot 17 times in the back by an off-duty police officer.
According to The Independent, Green was murdered on October 11th outside Five Paces Inn in the Buckhead area of Atlanta.
The man responsible for killing Green is Gerald Walker, a police officer who was working a security job at the bar.
Police claim Walker shot the rapper after responding to reports of a “disruptive person.” Walker allegedly saw Green trying to re-enter the bar through the rear entrance, before going to a car in the parking lot and “putting an item in the small of his back.”
The report said Walker issued commands “in reference to a gun” before shooting, with Green being pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators later found a firearm.
Speaking to 11 Alive, Green’s manager and friend, Timothy Coleman, reacted to the news of the autopsy report.
“I just couldn’t believe it was 17 times in the back,” he said. “There’s not one shot in the front. If he wasn’t pointing a gun at you or doing anything, what does that have to do with shooting him in the back 17 times? That means he wasn’t facing you. He wasn’t a threat.”
He continued, “The officer ensued, chased him down and gunned him down… that’s what we know. He was a loving family man. He just leaves a lot behind. I want him locked up. Gerald Walker needs to be behind bars.”
Green was the father of twin girls. He released his final album, PTSD: Vietnam Vet, in November 2020.
