Rapper Foolio reportedly shot and killed at birthday party
Jacksonville emcee Foolio has tragically died fo following a shooting at his birthday party. His death was confirmed by his lawyer, Lewis Fusco, on June 23rd via social media.
It was also reported on local Jacksonville news outlets. Radio station News4JAX relayed a message from Foolio’s lawyer. Taking to social media, Fusco wrote, “We will not be making any additional statements until further notice.”
He continued, “Please respect his family during this difficult time. Rest in peace, @julio_foolio.” The shooting occurred on Foolio’s 26th birthday at a pool party in Tampa.
Akin to PnB Rock, it has been reported that Foolio’s shooter was made aware of his location after Foolio shared. What has been described as an “ambush” took the rapper’s life and injured three other individuals.
Unfortunately, little is known about the perpetrators. On June 23rd, the emcee’s girlfriend took to Twitter/X, writing, “Y’all took my boyfriend from me. I hate y’all & I won’t be the only one crying [broken heart emoji].”
Foolio’s last tweet was on June 21st, when he wrote, “God, thank you for allowing me to see another year and celebrate another birthday.” He continued, “I appreciate all the birthday wishes so far.”
Foolio (real name Charles Jones) was relatively argumentative online and was not shy of starting feuds on Twitter/X, and was always one to speak out. Many feared it would lead to his death and hoped it was merely a phase.
Foolio had been involved in shootings before, which he had miraculously survived. However, this time, that was not the case and aged only 26, he has now passed away. Before he perished, Foolio released many popular hist, including, ‘When I See You’, ‘In My Heart and ‘Play With Me’.
