Rapper who escaped from prison spotted on CCTV amid manhunt
Police are currently on the hunt for a rapper who escaped from prison twice this month, and he’s now been spotted in security footage.
21-year-old drill rapper Dsavv (real name Daniel Boakye) evaded police custody at University Hospital Lewisham on February 15th.
Now, CCTV images have been released of the rapper boarding a bus while wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a dark Nike jacket.
According to The Standard, Scotland Yard said in a statement, “Officers searching for a 21-year-old man who absconded from Lewisham Hospital are releasing a new image, as they continue to appeal to the public for information.”
They continued, “Daniel Boakye, 21 was in police custody in hospital when he absconded at around 3.05pm on Sunday, February 15. Officers gave chase but could not detain Boakye and he left the area.”
His latest escape came just days after running out of another hospital. He previously escaped from West Middlesex University Hospital on February 10th before being captured on February 12th.
Dsavv has been taunting police over the past week, posting snippets of new music on social media. In one of the songs, he raps, “Done it twice, now they think I’m insane,” and “Catch me if you can, I’m in a Wray towards the plane.”
In another clip, he says, “I just broke out of jail like Modie/ Fuck the government, fam, they’re phoneys/ Prison break, shit fam, fuck these police/ On the roads, I’m a legend like Toby/ But I can’t go wrong like Kobe.”
On February 24th, Dsavv released his new single ‘The Race’ across streaming platforms. The music video, which finds him rapping in a car, has over 112,000 views on YouTube.
