R Kelly is seeking an immediate release from prison. On June 10th, his lawyers claimed officials at FCI Butner Medium I in North Carolina, where Kelly is currently imprisoned, asked an inmate to murder him.

The Chicago singer is currently serving a 30-year sentence on federal racketeering and sex trafficking charges involving the sexual abuse of minors.

Kelly, 58, is claiming his life is in danger while accusing the government of misconduct, requesting home detention on a temporary furlough.

His legal team provided a sworn declaration from Kelly’s inmate, Mikeal Glenn Stine. Stine, who is terminally ill, alleges that officials offered him freedom in exchange for Kelly’s murder.

According to Stine, he was told that Kelly and his lawyers wanted to expose damaging information about him. Although he would initially be charged with Kelly’s murder, officials allegedly said that evidence would be mishandled, and he wouldn’t be convicted.

Stine is a leader of the prison gang Aryan Brotherhood and has been in the same unit as Kelly since March. He was prepared to kill him, but changed his mind and informed Kelly about the alleged murder plot made by officials.

Kelly’s team allege he’s in constant danger around members of the gang, claiming another member was also told to kill both Kelly and Stine.

The filing read, “The threat to Mr Kelly’s life continues each day that no action is taken. More AB members are accumulating at his facility. More than one has already been approached about carrying out his murder. One of them will surely do what Mr Stine has not, thereby burying the truth about what happened in this case along with Robert Kelly.”
