Quavo fined $700K for Las Vegas hotel fight
Migos rapper Quavo has taken a financial blow after being fined $700K for slapping an employee at a hotel in Las Vegas in 2018.
On September 25th, it was revealed that a jury had decided to fine the rapper a substantial amount due to the historic incident. The money will be paid to Antonio Henry, a former valet at the Encore Hotel & Casino. In the altercation, Henry was harmed both “physically and emotionally.”
The trial took a great deal of time to come to fruition, and was also an elongated affair once it began. The hearing went on for multiple weeks as the jury took the time they needed to decide the amount that should be awarded to Henry.
The official figure came to $682,000 in compensatory along with punitive damages. Quavo and his team argued against the case, saying that Henry wasn’t injured following the fight and was merely looking for a big payout.
The fight occurred in April, 2018, after Migos had performed a set at Drai’s Nightclub. Upon heading back to the hotel, Quavo was asked by the valet to move his car, and from there, a fight broke out. Cardi B was also there and apparently rushed to safety. Afterwards, the entire group was kicked out of the hotel.
In better news for fans of the rapper, it seems that Offset and Quavo have managed to patch things up in their relationship following the untimely passing of Rich Homie Quan. The two Migos haven’t been close since 2022, as Quavo said that Offset was disloyal. The death of their former bandmate, TakeOff, escalated matters further.
While the two of them have been progressing and mending their relationship recently, the untimely passing of fellow Atlanta rapper Rich Homie Quan seems to have contributed to their completely leaving their differences behind. Quavo seemed emotional following the rapper’s passing, posting a number of throwback pictures of the Migos with Quan on social media.
After posting the throwback images, Quavo also mentioned that he and Offset were in the process of mending their relationship. While he didn’t share much detail, he did reveal that the two of them had been talking and were in the process of mending things.
“Good convo with my bro Offset,” he wrote on social media. Whether this means the two are going to be working together and releasing music soon remains to be seen, but they are certainly heading in the right direction.
