Quando Rondo released from South Carolina prison to halfway house in Atlanta
Rapper Quando Rondo has reportedly been released from prison to a halfway house.
The Savannah artist was sentenced to 33 months in prison in December 2024 after pleading guilty to conspiracy to possess and distribute marijuana.
However, according to court records obtained by XXL on June 2nd, Rondo has been transferred from the Edgefield Federal Correctional Institution in South Carolina to a halfway house in Atlanta.
The 27-year-old served 15 months of his sentence in prison before being moved, shortly after five months were taken off his sentence in May.
Rondo accepted a plea deal that resulted in a two-year and nine-month sentence. He was also hit with a $40,000 fine and three years of probation.
In March, Rondo took to social media to share photos of himself in the prison grounds, wearing a green outfit and New Balance shoes while shaking hands with another inmate.
In the Instagram caption, he wrote, “Rico came I ain’t budged I was bunkys with the plug. I was just the only cuz doing burpees with the bloods !! #27.”
Despite his crimes, Rondo has admitted to doing wrong and sees the benefit in serving time behind bars.
“I did the wrong thing, and I’m getting punished for it,” he told WJCL. “So, I want y’all to know that you actually get punished for doing wrong things. Just do the right thing.”
He continued, “As crazy as it sounds, that’s enough time to really sit down and rehabilitate myself, come up with some better plans, come out, and move forward for my family and friends. You can do something way more better and positive … Doing the right thing and walking down the right path is cool.”
