Post Malone and Roddy Ricch have joined forces on the new single, ‘Cooped Up’.
The track is the latest teaser from Malone from his forthcoming new alum, Twelve Carat Toothache. Although a release date is yet to be confirmed, Postie recently took to IG Live to reveal a list of collaborators on the project which includes Ricch, The Kid Laroi, Doja Cat and Fleet Foxes singer Robin Pecknold.
Now the first one of the collabs has dropped, and it’s worth the wait. On the track, Malone spits: “Feelin’ like an outcast, I’m the only guy in slacks, That’ll cost you three stacks, Now you savin’ that check, why you takin’ my swag? Can you give me that back? Gucci my Prada, Miyake, Louis, Bottega, and Tommy, All of these things on my body, let’s party.”
Malone discussed the track in an interview with Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe, and said: “I’ve been out of my bag for a long time, and I’m trying to hop back in there, man.”
He continued: “We knew what we wanted to say, and we knew what we wanted to express, not only in a song but in that particular moment on the album. And yeah, it just came super naturally. I couldn’t even tell you. I was probably on the shitter when I wrote it.”
