Post Malone heading to court over abuse allegations payment
‘Rockstar’ rapper and singer Post Malone will be heading to court to fight a lawsuit filed against him in September last year. The allegations against the emcee include physical and emotional abuse. The case was brought forward by Post Malone’s ex-girlfriend, Ashlen Diaz.
However, the ‘White Iverson’ singer is strangely battling the law firm Diaz recruited, Martorell Law. Last year, the law firm sued Post and Diaz, whom they had previously helped with legal negotiations, claiming they were not paid for their services. Furthermore, the company accused the pair of cutting a private deal behind their backs.
Martorell Law alleges that Post Malone convinced Diaz to drop them as her representatives by paying her $350,000, and they also claim that she never gave them the money she agreed they would receive for their services.
In November last year, Post Malone asked a judge to shut down the law firm, claiming that one of its employees was threatening to expose what has been described as manipulative and threatening texts Malone sent to his ex-girlfriend and sue him for it.
However, Post’s request was denied, and he is now heading to court to fight the case that he owes the firm $350,000 after they carefully drafted and helped the former couple with a palimony agreement.
According to court documents obtained by AllHipHop.com, the Texas artist’s battle is far from over. On June 14th, the judge decided to continue the proceedings and not dismiss the case, with the statement reading, “The Court learns that the settlement has not yet been finalized and therefore continues today’s hearing.”
The Austin creator will have to return to the Inglewood, California courthouse as the court date has now been pushed back to August 1st, about a month and a half away. You can see the original court case filed below.
